Who you’d be hiring

A writer who produces

I have written on spec, for hire, as a ghostwriter and on punch-ups for independent producers in London, Los Angeles and New York. I focus on high-concept stories that can be made on a budget.

I also produce, so I know what a late draft does to a shoot. One missed deadline knocks over everything behind it. My job is to hand you the script you asked for, on the day I said it would arrive, and then take the notes.

What I deliver

Built around your brief

Scripts

Features and pilots

Original or from your idea, written to your genre, your budget and your audience. Low-budget horror and thrillers are home ground.

Rewrites

Polish and punch-up

A fresh pass on a draft that is nearly there. Structure, dialogue, jokes, scares, or a page count that needs to come down.

Packaging

Pitch materials

Loglines, synopses, one-pagers, series bibles and pitch decks, so the project can go out the door as soon as the script is ready.

The short version of my pitch: tell me what you need, and you will have a first draft in a week. I use AI tools for research and brainstorming, which is a big part of how I keep that turnaround.

Writers I’ve worked with say

From the classroom

“Bob knows everything there is to know on this subject and the industry but he is so approachable, patient and encouraging, and honest too.”

Bridie Hanifee, screenwriter

“Everyone needs Bob in their life. You cannot help but come away from one of his workshops with your project in better shape.”

Abbie Heath, screenwriter

“I loved this workshop. I think you have saved me approximately a million years in adapting my novel.”

Alex English, author and screenwriter

I also teach. See Bob Schultz, Presenter & Lecturer.
