Details →A working writer who teaches
I have been training screenwriters for more than 20 years, alongside writing and producing my own films. What I teach comes from the work: how a script gets read, pitched, financed and shot.
I can run a class on my own, interview guests, moderate or sit on a panel. Topics range across screenwriting craft, pitching, independent producing and using AI tools in a creative career. Give me an hour, a day, a weekend or a week, and I’ll fit the session to your audience.

Pick one, or I’ll write one for you

The Low Budget Hit
How to develop an idea that can actually get made, land a first credit, and still dazzle an audience.

Pitch Without Fear
For writers who dread the room. Practise, rehearse, and walk out with your calmest and most effective pitch.

Perfect Your Pitch
“If I told it to you in 90 pages, how can I tell it to you in 90 seconds?” Simple strategies for a pitch that lands.

Write the Killer One-Pager
With a script, a one-pager sells it. Without one, it clarifies the story. Either way, yours is done in half a day.

Writing the True Story
Biopics and true stories: choosing truth over facts, and finding what really matters to the story.

The Nine Archetypes of Nemesis
Your hero needs an opposing force. A villain, nature, or themselves. Find the right one and use it well.

The Irresistible Act One
Act One is a foundation, an introduction and a promise. How to establish your story, and yourself, in the reader’s mind.

Demystifying Act Two
Where the whole story happens. A run of chances to reveal, explain and entertain, and how to use every one.

The Killer Act Three
A great ending lifts a script and a weak one poisons it. The hidden structures behind a finale that feels inevitable and surprising.
Each course is adjusted for its audience. Ask for the full list of 30+, or for one built from scratch.

BRING ME IN
Tell me who the audience is, how long you have, and what you want them to leave with. I’ll send back a session to match.
Most of what is here is free and stays free. Running it is not, so a coffee helps keep the lights on.
